"Off Segment" Message won't stop

What causes this message to appear endlessly? Every time it appears the unit beeps. It is maddening in the middle of a climb.

I'm not following a route or course. I'm just going for a ride. I had to entirely disable tones which doesn't seem like a good solution. How do I configure this alert, or avoid it altogether?

Any insight is appreciated. I never had this problem with previous edge unit.

This continues to be an issue. The only way to make it stop is to remove all strava segments ahead of time for the area I'm riding in. Which is exactly the opposite of what I want to do with my segments…

I have the same problem that the Strava segment warning just keeps beeping and I am not even on the route or heading to the route.

I’ve seen the behaviour you talking about, but for me it does it about 3 times then stops. Does yours keep going? Didn’t notice it today though in fact if anything it was very fast to see I went off route of a segment (almost instant) and I got just the one message.

INCESSANTLY. Like as soon as I clear the alert, another appears, endlessly. I had to turn off ALL audible alerts on the 1040 because it was so obnoxious. It was the only workaround I could find. There doesn't seem to be any way to configure the alerts for individual notification types.

I don’t try and clear it. I just let it do it’s thing for a couple of times and it stopped.

In my case leaving it alone has not stopped it from repeating.

I don't ever want to see an off segment alert again. How do we control individual notifications?
