Screen Protector - Edge 1040

Has anyone tested a screen protector for the Edge 1040 series?  I had tried one with my 1030 and it caused water drops to really mess up the responsiveness.  After I got an 830 I tried another and it works great, but I can't remember the brand.  I get the feeling that certain types and materials will affect touch response / water drops / glare more than others.

  • Panzerglass is the best i.m.o.

  • I’m using a glass screen protector for the 1030, it’s slightly short due to the lager screen but works perfectly

  • 1030 was bad on rain, aleays I had to lock the screen as it randomly change something

with 1040 , monday I had some heavly rain, and screen was responsive and never changed by itself

but the question still valid, I would put also an scren protector

Seems like this stuff isn't as easy to come by in the USA.  I normally use brotect airglass (matte) for anti glare.  protectionfilms24 no longer ships to the US so I can't get that anymore.  I may order the panzerglass anti-glare.  It looks pretty expensive, but I assume the amazon seller is shipping from Europe and just stating "free shipping".  They have a 1030 version so I'll plan on that unless anybody else has recommendations.

  • Confirming that on a regular 1040,  a 1030 cheapie glass screen protector fit and works great, no loss in touch function.   Have a 1040 solar coming for my partner and will report back on that one.  Pic is indoor/office (not outdoor light). no idea how water/rain function is impacted.

  • Bought original Garmin tempered glass screen protector. Sadly, it didn't stick fully on the upper part (white line), but other than that responsiveness and visibility (even if it's glossy) seems to make no difference in the performance.
