Can anyone report if Garmin have fixed the issue that the 1030+ has with ridiculously long responses to changes in gradient?

Thank you for sharing your concerns about the undesirable lag in road grade. We want to share that we have a plan for an improved solution with consideration of both accuracy and responsiveness. Our engineers…
@Garmin-Mathew.
If you really believe that 10-15 seconds delay is considered “normal” - as the official statement from Garmin is trying to force-feed customers, then what does that say about my Edge 1000…
I currently have a wahoo element (full size) a karoo2 and now a 1040 solar. as of the 12.14 release the 1040 solar still has a ridiculous lag as compared to the other two. I really don't care too much…
That was my earlier point. DCRainmaker and GPLama both have big followings, and yet are not all over this. Yes, they may have mentioned it, but have not really gone into bat for us in a big way like they have with the Strava debacle on subscriptions
They have every right not to, there's no obligation. I just wish they would, they have some clout given their followership, they're trusted
I would hope a forum (their user forum), should form part of that research, surely
Having worked in s/w all my life (retired now) I wouldn't be ignoring the user base like this
I hope "Sensible Grade" is a reasonable workaround
Have you ever thought about, that there are other users who either don't use gradient or are just not interested in the instant correctness of gradient?
You sound like this has to be the biggest issue for all users and so everyone has to write about it.
As said many times before, I understand your personal frustration when your need is not satisfied. Especially when you paid money for the device.
But don't make the assumption that everyone is frustrated.
42 pages. It's the biggest thread. I think it's fair to assume it's not just a few
I think therefore enough people are writing about it
I didn't say I agree with their process and communication. I would appreciate that they at least analyze the cause and communicate a possible fix, even if they communicate that other things have higher priority because they make that decision.
At least that is what I do in my work with my stakeholders. Even the ones that do not get their features prioritized I keep them informed.
That is what I would like to see from Garmin as well.
The reason is simple. As Ray said, he hasn't seen the problem and gradient works fine for him. Which is also what the vast majority of the users also thinks. Which is why Garmin doesn't do much about it
Even if every post in 42 pages was written by a different person, which they aren't, this is still a tiny fraction of the Garmin users.
The 14 likes on the initial post are not very impressive.
Also, the number of unique users writing in this thread would be interesting. If I look at the first few pages, many are writing again and again. Even now. So it might just not be enough for Garmin. And they put their efforts into the new version of ClimbPro for all users instead of fixing a bug that only a few users are complaining.
Again, I understand your personal frustration, I understand that it does not fit your needs and I understand the additional frustration because of the lack of communication.
It would be maximum 420 users.
Minus the ones like us who posted but don't have a problem.
Minus the same users posting again and again.
And keep in mind that only affected users complain in a forum. 99,99% of users who don't have a problem don't come to the forum and write "I don't use gradient, I don't have a problem with gradient"
