Can anyone report if Garmin have fixed the issue that the 1030+ has with ridiculously long responses to changes in gradient?

Thank you for sharing your concerns about the undesirable lag in road grade. We want to share that we have a plan for an improved solution with consideration of both accuracy and responsiveness. Our engineers…
@Garmin-Mathew.
If you really believe that 10-15 seconds delay is considered “normal” - as the official statement from Garmin is trying to force-feed customers, then what does that say about my Edge 1000…
I currently have a wahoo element (full size) a karoo2 and now a 1040 solar. as of the 12.14 release the 1040 solar still has a ridiculous lag as compared to the other two. I really don't care too much…
A) wrong: minus 10% while I was at 10% . Climb finished and after 40/50 secs climbpro still seeing me not finished the climb etc .
B) delayed it means that the actual gradient is not what I see on the unit and sometimes the issue is 30 secs and sometimes even 50 secs .
any more questions ?
I agree I just bought 1040 and this is really not acceptable :-(
Delay is about 2' !!!!
I sent my 1040 Solar back to Garmin as the current speed was also lagging considerably. The tech support I spoke with had no problem telling me to suck it up re: Gradient Lag, but current speed? Well, he was curious. So he took it back, and they are sending me a new unit. However after riding (and enjoying) my old 1030 for the past 3 weeks, I may just sell the 1040. It sucks to need a recharge on the old 1030 every third ride, but to your point, @calicyclist, it is useless having a brick on the front of the bike telling you old news.
lol.
Anyways, mine only display about 7 seconds late, so if you claim that your gradient displays 30 seconds later something's wrong with your device
This is what I meant
No gradient is still useless
Was this picture taken at a standstill?
I noticed: It's something that will happen alot when stopping in the middle of a climb, or when stopping in a turn, because you're leaning your bike and Garmin thinks you're on a steep climb or something
