Can anyone report if Garmin have fixed the issue that the 1030+ has with ridiculously long responses to changes in gradient?

Thank you for sharing your concerns about the undesirable lag in road grade. We want to share that we have a plan for an improved solution with consideration of both accuracy and responsiveness. Our engineers…
@Garmin-Mathew.
If you really believe that 10-15 seconds delay is considered “normal” - as the official statement from Garmin is trying to force-feed customers, then what does that say about my Edge 1000…
I currently have a wahoo element (full size) a karoo2 and now a 1040 solar. as of the 12.14 release the 1040 solar still has a ridiculous lag as compared to the other two. I really don't care too much…
Agree, but then again I cannot understand if is software, hardware , routing, mapping, dem file
I remember in the past, I had the same route loaded with Garmin 1030, and Wahoo V1 and Wahoo was spot on , and of course 1030 some meters behind
I have friends with 830, 530 , 1030+, its the same across all devices, but they don't complain, and consider "normal" this wrong behavior
You need to read the other forums. Still an issue, just not as hot now since most have given up as Garmin has clearly said that a 10 to 15 second lag is "expected" behavior. I'm a 500, 800, 1000 and 830 owner. Returned a 1030 + because of grade lag. I came to the 1040 forum to see if the latest and greatest had fixed it. No joy! No 1040 for me. I will live with it on the 830 for many hundreds of dollars less. Not happy about it.
But in fact it is 25-30s lag !!!
not acceptable !
Keep parroting the corporate talking points. This is complete bullsh*t and Garmin knows it. I ride the same routes and NEVER had a lag issue with the 1030 or previous models. As others have said. The 1040 is flawed yet Garmin will never admit it.
that is so smartly said and explained clearly. Can you dive deeper with them just to figure out why on the 1030 they way it computed the barometric and speed data was quicker or better? What changed for 1040? thanks!
I have asked. Support won’t answer. I have e-mailed the CEO and other VP’s. They won’t answer. That’s your answer. They don’t care. Perhaps it’s time for a class action lawsuit like they did in the UK.
I dont like the lag as I have also 1040 but , and I don't defend Garmin , but lawsuit for what?
they say that this device is for recreation usage, so no accuracy or any barometer gold standard, they mention that this is not professional device in any sense
Also they state that this is normal to have lag on the percentage
so you have one car , and they state that 0-100 is 8 seconds, but you don't like it and you want 3 seconds
No lawsuit but tells everyone that gradient is useless on 1040 and is by far the worse edge regarding this point. May be dcrainmaker or orhers could make a topic on this bug ?
