Phantom Blank Data Screen after GC copying profiles from old 1030

I got my 1040 and synced three profiles from my 1030 with GC iOS. In the data screen editor everything looked good. All the screen are the same as they were on the 1030. However, when I started a ride the first screen was blank in all three profiles. Not missing or an extra screen since the right number of screens were present. Just that the first screen in the list displayed as blank.

This is how it looked in the editor:

So, I recreated the screen and deleted the original and everything was fine. It seems that there is some sort of glitch in the profile transfer.

I suspect it is to do with one of the extra training pages like group ride being enabled.

If you still have a copy of those profiles I would be interested in having a look at them.

I only have the profiles from the 1040 after I deleted the first screen and recreated it. Attached are the working 1040 profiles (zipped because the forum SW doesn't recognize .fit extensions):

I got a new 1040 solar yesterday and the same thing is happening on my device when profiles transfered over from a 1030.

How did you remove the first blank data screen. I can't seem to find a way at all.

You go the the main menu, then profiles, select the profile you want, select data screens, you’ll see a list of all the screens, select the one you want to get rid of, then choose “Remove”

I know the general settings, just the blank screen isn't in the list of the editor. It's visible when viewing the profile or during an activity but it's not in the settings list which is what the OP was talking about

One option is to delete the affected profile(s) and manually recreate them on the unit, but before you do that I would be willing to share them I can manually fix them.

The screen that shows as blank is the first one in the list. In the screen editor it looks fine. However, it displays as blank. I deleted the screen and then recreated it

I also had a blank Data Screen on the 1040. I set up all screens manually and today one of them was blank. It was a Power Meter screen and was just blank, no text on it at all. The Power Meter Sensor was connected and the saved ride had all the power data.

Tried stopping/starting device whilst on the ride, still the same. Finished ride are tried another re-boot, no good, still a blank screen.

I created another Data Screen with the Power Data Fields and deleted the ghost screen. A quick test showed that the new screen was ok.

I hope it remains ok and that this is not going to be a recurring bug.
