Edge 1040 Series Does Startup.txt works on 1040?

Does Startup.txt works on 1040?

Today I tried to use the same startup.txt that I'm using on my Edge 1030 but on Edge 1040 it seems to not work.

Any suggestion?

Support is added in the 14.x beta builds.

:( Hope they add that functionality or something like it. Can be useful on big multiday rides when you don't know who's garmin it is

ive also tested it and its not working. I like to put my ICE contact on there, also helps if its lost

Currently support for statup.txt is not implemented

Please add it, it's great for "if lost" information and ownership. I put a "This is John's Garmin, Tel. +44 777........, Email: [email protected]", it's served me well in the past.

22 Aug - Update, thanks for the comments, I updated my 1040 to 14.14 and it works just fine, thanks Garmin.

I'm confused. I just bought a 1040Solar and its on v15.23, but there's no startup.txt file. Do I have to add the file myself, or should it be there as of v14.14?

There is also an example there. Just copy text & paste into a file startup.txt and save that in folder ..\Garmin

Thanks. The weird thing is, the file wasn't there when I received the unit on Wednesday. When I looked just now, the file was there and the file date was yesterday. I did update the software, not sure if I did that Wednesday or yesterday. I'm wondering if the update might have added the file? Anyway, I'm good to go, thanks!
