Hey all
Just be aware that the screen reflections on the 1040 solar at least are for real. Riding under trees with mixed shade and sun, you will have a very hard time reading what is on the screen.

Here's just a sample, when I had to stop and try to reconnect my powertap. It's markedly different than the 1030.
I don't mean this to be snarky, but when are you going to be looking at it at that angle while riding? If you take the picture from where your eyes would normally be, do you get the same mirror effect…

Strange. No problem here in similar conditions
Hmmm, did not tried under the mixed condition , only in the direct sun , and its very visible (normal one)
From this point also 1030 was bad , I don't have solar , I have standard 1040 , I will try to test it in the weekend and came back with feedback
this is mine
Wow that looks nasty. $150.00 more and you get that kind of glare? Not that I intended to get the solar, but that pic and the other reports of glare would have definitely talked me out of it if I did.

Personally I position my computer so the screen is as close to perpendicular to my line of sight as possible.
This exactly. I've ridden with my 1040 solar twice now and it's totally fine. Even better than my 810 that I'm replacing it with, to be honest, and certainly better than my Karoo which was terrible in daylight.
