1040 Availability

I'm spinning up a thread for users to share where the 1040 is available.  I haven't found any locally (major city). 

I've ordered online today from 3 shops, each showed in stock at the time of payment.  When I called each store, I found that they did not have them in stock yet, and did not have a known date when they will have them.

    Indianapolis - I guess it's not such a major city compared to anything in California though.  I was able to put an order in at dialedcyclinglab and it's on the way.  They are now out of the base model.  They have one bundle in stock, and 8 solar models.

    You will also enjoy the ease of working with setting it up with a touchscreen instead of buttons.

    I have gotten pretty good at scrolling through menus with the buttons, even while riding, but yeah that will be nice!

    I ordered a Solar one direct from Garmin in KS yesterday and it arrived this morning in North Carolina thanks to UPS.

    In Canada we are looking at August 15/2022 before any stock shows up.  Thanks Garmin Disappointed.

    We Cannot even pre-order it in like every other country in the world can it seems.

    Excuses like "...supply chain issues due to pandemic...." are past wearing a bit thin!

    In Oz no retailer (store or on-line) has seen any stock yet, those I have spoken to don't know when they will have stock. Garmin AU web page has 1040s listed and can be ordered but "ready to ship in 4-7 business days" (has said this for 3 days now, every since 1040 listing appeared), guess this is their way of saying they also don't have stock and don't know when they will

    Price (non-solor) listed as AUD999 but 1030+ is also listed at AUD999 but at least "ready to ship in 1-3 business days"

    Garmin controls distribution tightly worldwide so overseas on-line stores will not ship Garmin stuff to Oz.

    So I guess we just wait

    I ordered my 1040 Solar directly from Garmin. Ordered on Wednesday and arrived on Thursday.

    Thanks for the tip about Sigma Sports having stock. Ordered Friday morning, delivered Saturday lunch time and I was able to get £25 off the price by signing up to emails.

    I'm holding out for working software to be available for the 1040 before I buy. Based on past experience (810, 1000, 1030) that should take 18-24 months. Well, probably longer. My 1030 still can't maintain sensor connections reliably during a ride.

    Take a look at the Wahoo forums about the Bolt2 launch. Nothin but problems. Bluetooth sensors didn’t work at all and many other serious problems. Plus, Wahoo has a history of taking years to add simple features.  Getting Varia Radar took about three years of everyone complaining.
