New Edge 1030/1030 Bontrager Public Beta 12.14 Now Available

A new Beta software for the Edge 1030 has been released. Full change log, instructions, and software for installing the beta can be found in the link below.

For any issues that you encounter please fill out the form included in the download and attach it to an email to [email protected]. Please note that you may not get a response to the email unless we need more information on the issue you report.
Although this software is believed to be reliable, it has not yet been released for production and should be used at your own risk.

Changes made from version 12.00 to 12.14:

Fix issue with Fazua BLE scanning
Fix crashes drawing third party maps
Fix issue unlocking maps from SD card

Installation Instructions

Connect your Edge 1030 device to your computer using the micro-USB cable.
Download and unzip Edge1030_1214Beta.zip and place the GUPDATE.gcd file in the \Garmin folder of your device's internal storage drive.
Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the Edge, and wait for the update to finish.
If you would like to revert to the last public release software, follow the above steps but place the GUPDATE_1200.GCD file in the \Garmin folder. Rename the file to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device.
NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.

And here we go again, I get a mostly stable release, and then another buggy release 12 is forced out. And to rub salt in wound, if I want to stay on my current version. I have to get nagged every time I switch it on - v12 available, want it?? No I don’t, we’ll tough I’ll keep reminding you until I break you down to accept this new version warts and all.

I will try again, please Garmin can we have a choice to skip a release without further reminders if we are happy at level we are and don’t want the new features and bugs???

The Bontrager link doesn't go to a direct download; you end up with a message saying to download from Garmin Express. Which of course doesn't recognize a beta download.

If the edge ask you it is probably that the gupdate file has been copied to the device. Try deleting it from \Garmin and you should not be asked again

Unfortunately it will find its way back there over and over and over again. I even put a locked file in place with the same name and gupdate.gcd or whatever the file is called.

After updating to ver 12 (now 12.14) i can't get a stable connection between the Edge and my Sram Etap. It drops and reconnect every few seconds. Any idea?

There is an issue with map screen while navigating to a certain point, after tapping on the hand icon in order to activate panning, then screen will be half displayed, and no posibility to actuall panning of the map

I think it's a processing issue & the Edge is struggling to cope. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Zooming in/out has helped on a few occasions
