Hello All,
I wanted to let you know we are aware of this problem and working on a resolution. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and I will provide an update or resolution when one is available…
Fix is released with firmware 10.20.

Can anyone tell me what's the way to report this to Garmin?
Or has it already been done?
Same here. I sent a e-mail to Garmin tech support.
their answer was meaningless.
connect your phone again
do soft restart
do hard restart
check is there are new updates
they said nothing about this problem…
yes, much more vertical meters than with firmware 9.50
Yesterday I installed FW 10.0 on my 1030. My ride today resulted in 5 times more meters ascent than actual. 500+ meters vs 102 meters after Strava correction.
how can this go wrong Garmin? This parameters is part of the common set of cycling parameters. Isn’t it tested? Apparently I am not the only one having this problem.
please fix asap
after v10 I got 146 meters ascent home from work. Checked the same route on strava with an older version and had 97 meters. Exactly the same route both trips.
Did a ride yesterday, komoot says 430m, edge says 426m. As komoot is correcting the elevation as well, it seems pretty close to me.
I'm talking about the uncorrected elevation gain - i.e. what the Edge reports for total metres climbed before the activity is uploaded to Connect. That's what's changed markedly between previous FW versions and this one when riding over the same course.
I have the same problem.
Yesterday a ride with normal 451 m altitude, but now a record height of 749 m altitude.
I was running software version 9.5 when I did this update to version 10.
I have never had any problems with altimeters after an update in recent years. So this is quite strange.
I hope for a quick solution otherwise I will keep cycling records.
