Edge 1030 & Tacx Neo 2T & Edge remote = constant dropouts

I have recently owned a Tacx Neo 2T, and I am recording activities with the Garmin Edge 1030. I have verified that it has constant disconnections only if I have paired the remote control.

Without any doubt these disconnections are due to having the remote control paired, if it is not paired the problem disappears.

Edge 1030: V9.34 beta
Tacx Neo 2T: V0.0.34

Any ideas how to solve it?

PS: on other devices that I have recording at the same time it does not happen, Garmin Descent MK1 or Zwift for example.

At the end of this post talk about precisely this problem but not its solution:

Sorry for my misspellings

  • As far as I know Garmin are still investigating the issue based on my many investigations, which I've provided to them. It also may be worth raising a support request yourself to maybe (hopefully) give it a bit more importance.

The only solution at the moment is a workaround, which is to delete the remote from the 1030. This doesn't prevent all the dropouts as I believe there are still some underlying issues but it's a significant improvement.

  • Thank you for your answer, I am glad to know that I am not alone.

I will contact the support service to inform them of the detected failure. I hope Garmin service can read this post.

Fortunately it is not a fault that cannot be solved, simply by unpairing the remote in my case everything works well again.

    Thanks again.

  • My solution is to unpair the trainer from the edge 1030, and close the edge remote (no need to unpair), only pair the trainer's power sensor and speed & cadence sensor, the problem of disconnection can be improved

  • That may work for you however for me doing as you suggest means that I can't do my training plan ERG workouts where the edge controls the trainer

  • Because I use the Rouvy AR app on my tablet, if I pair with the trainer at the same time (even if I unpair the edge remote), I will still continue to disconnect

  • Was this issue ever resolved? I'm experiencing the same problem with an Edge 530, Neo 2T and a Garmin Edge remote. It's taken days of trial and error to isolate the remote as the source of the power sensor dropouts on the Edge 530. Today I disabled the remote for the first hour and had no dropouts during that time in the Garmin Edge 530 data. Then I enabled the remote for 30 minutes and had power sensor dropouts every few minutes in the Edge 530 data. After disabling the remote, I road for another 30 minutes with no power dropouts in the Edge 530 data. I was using Zwift on an IPad connected to the Neo 2T via Bluetooth this whole time and had no corresponding power sensor dropouts in the Zwift data.

  • Hello guys

I got the same issue.. No problems with my Neo on ipad/zwift, but my edge 1030 plus do a lot of dropouts.

I would be really nice with a solution.

    Cheers
