Only Charging to 97%

Ever since the 7.5 update the unit does not charge to 100% regardless of how long its plugged in. The most it shows while charging is 99% and as soon as I unplug it goes to 97%. This never happened before the 7.5 update.

Can we expect this to be fixed in the next firmware update?

same for me, sometimes it will be charged via Computer with 100%, but unplugging and reboot and it goes to 97%

What I have found is that the 1030 does not charge well when charged through a computers port. Also, if using a separate charger, use one that is classified as a smart charger. This will always get the charge level up to 100%. Some regular chargers will not get it up to 100%. Even my Iphone charger will not get it to 100%.

Same thing for me and without firmware 7.50 (still no 7.40). The impression I have is that Garmin has only done things to make our lives more difficult and to break up everything that is working. It is highly frustrating to purchase a product that is a high-tech, bugs-filled product.

Yep, I noticed the same thing. Charges to 100% on a power adapter ... but shows 97% when I turn it on.

I thought it was due to the fact that I got a refurb replacement for the halo issue.

I've opened a case with Garmin support.

They wanted me to not use my multi-device charging brick, but admitted that it's probably a firmware issue.

They are creating a case for the engineering team and are asking me to send diagnostics from the garmin folder.

Why would that be a concern ? 97% or 100% that's the same thing. A battery level indicator is never that accurate anyway.

Agreed... I have the same "issue" with 97%, also on 7.50 but who cares... I understand it is a bit irritating not to see 100%, but at the end of the day given the fantastic battery life overall - I really couldn't care less. Way more important for me is the LiveTrack failures or reboots with this firmware.

It's different behavior that isn't expected. It may be an indicator of a bigger issue.

Maybe it's because I'm a software developer in real life ... but that kind of thing bugs me.

Battery level is derived from the voltage is by nature is not a super dooper accurate measure. You can fudge the software to fake a 100% measure but at the end of the day kidding yourself is all you do.
