Incident detection activating too often than before

Hi,

Does anyone have a problem with this feature in the past 1-2 weeks?

Currently the incident detection activates itself on almost every ride, sometimes even 2-3 times in one ride.

This obviosuly happens when I get off the bike, or stop at the traffic lights, but it almost never happened before, once in a while, maybe once every couple of months.

But for the past 1-2 weeks it happens all the time. Nothing has drastically changed in the way I stop or get off the bike, I even try not to tilt the bike too much.

Reseting the device to its factory defaults will be my last resort.

Thank you.

  • Hi, thanks for your post.

How is your Edge 1030 Plus mounted to the bike? The mounting position or mount itself may contribute to false positives (shaking, vibration).
Incident Detection is disabled by default for some activity profiles (Mountain Biking, Cyclocross) where normal riding conditions could have the same forces as a crash, fall.

Your question is about activation happening too often, but I will add that you can manually request assistance if Incident Detection is not triggered when required:

  • Hi.
It's mounted on a stem mount. But I have disabled the incident detection function, and re-enabled it. I rode today and it hasn't activated, not even once.
I will see on next few rides.
Something must have gone wrong with the software or sensors, maybe turning off and on has helped here.

  • that's exactly what happened to me and now it got worse, it lost all type of connectivity to the point that is useless, no gps,Bluetooth, ant+ so if yours still under warranty try to get it replace since customer support doesnt have a fix yet for this problem
