I'm using an Edge 1030 (not Plus) to connect to a Bianchi ebike with Mahle X35+ motor. They connect fine, and I can control the motor assistance level from the Edge. However, that means taking one hand off the bars and pressing the screen, which has a slow response time - not safe, especially in a group ride. It also doesn't work with gloves on. So, I added a Garmin Ebike Remote - a little disc device that connects to the Edge and is mounted on the handlebars. The Remote can change screens on the Edge and has two buttons which are designed to increase/decrease assistance levels. I can change the Edge screens with the remote, and so they are connecting just fine. However, I can't change assist levels with the remote (which was the whole point in the first place). Try as I might, the Edge just doesn't respond. I've sent a query in to Garmin, and am still waiting for a response. Has anyone else out there encountered this issue? Thanks!
PS - yes, I can still control the assistance level from the IWOC controller. Most manufacturers install the IWOC button on the top tube. Bianchi mounts theirs on the down tube for reasons I can't understand. Awkward to reach while riding, and even more need for a handlebar-mounted controller
