A new Garmin Edge 1050 is out.
Soon the Garmin Edge 1040 will stop getting updates and will become like the Garmin Edge 1030 plus series.
Congratulations to the owners !

That‘s not true - the contrary! 1040 will get some features from 1050!
(but here is the 1030+ forum…)
Wait, what?!? My brand NEW 1030 plus that I own less then a year is not getting updates anymore???? What the F!!!!!
Brand new? Might be - your device - but not the model. The Edge 1030 plus is the predecessor of the Edge 1040, and the 1040 has been out for 2 years.

So?
Brand that cares about users is supporting devices many years after it disappears from market (as an example Apple is supporting/updating MacBooks for 10 years since production date, Denon is supporting their audio-video equipment many years after it was available on market - I don't even remember when I bought it and still get updates and... it was much cheaper device than Garmin).
And if you buy new product and it happened to be 1 year ago it means that in a moment you were buying it .... it was already not supported any more (last update for 1030 plus was over 1 year ago).
Something is not OK here, isn't it?
It's worth noting that Garmin is still selling the Edge 1030 Plus on its web site - at full price! It seems reasonable to expect Garmin to support a device they are saying is still worth buying....
Can I still use my Vector 1050 with Edge 1050?
sorry - of course I meant Vector 2 with Edge 1050
In my opinion, starting to look at other brands and being satisfied is the best option.
My 1030 is the 2nd time the battery swells. !
STOP Garmin after all this that I have read, I will also save money.
I read about the 1040 problems, the 1050 that I would like to get, I read about further problems. Bye Garmin I move on to something else Goodbye.
