gps update issue

I have a issue with my 1030 plus (SN: 6ET242580) with software version 6.75. The unit has stopped working and the was constantly updating the GPS firmware. When it restarted it couldn't find the maps.

I have tried resetting it, connecting to my computer and removing the folders of /new files and RemoteSW as recommended for the Garmin 830 with a similar issue.

Now I can't seem to acquire any satellites, and the unit is still not working

I would appreciate any advice

If you go to the System About page what version does it show for the GPS software.

That would be the Unit software version. The GPS version is lower down the page to left and should show as 4.80.

It says 0.00 which seems weird

That would explain why it is not working. Let me see if I can find a build for you.

Try putting the follow file in the Garmin\RemoteSW folder

You might need to rename it to 006B310706.GCD

2211.006B310706.GCD

Thanks for that. I have put the file in the folder. Should there be any other files there? At the moment there are two others: CPE.BIN and 006B419706.GCD

I seem to be going from bad to worse. I can't get my Garmin to start and stay on. I have tried to reset it, by holding the power button down and when it comes on it say it is loading workouts etc, then goes blank. I'm not sure what to do. It's a bit frustrating.

Activities, New Files, Courses, Segments and Workouts folders can also be deleted. RemoteSW can also be deleted and will be recreated on the next sync with Garmin Express.

You might want to back up those folders and their contents first.
