1 year anniversary from last update!

Has Garmin totally forgot about users of super-expensive Garmin 1030 Plus?

  • It's an almost 4 years old device, and the x30 series is almost 7 years old, and these have common firmware code.  "Ofc" that there is no new firmware for them (except if they found some very critical issue in the last firmware...)

  • It's an almost 4 years old device

It is a device that you could buy in shops just few months ago without knowing that you are buying already outdated model without any further fixes, improvements and features.

It is unbelievable that device is not supported for a next few years after being discontinued.

  • i knew it 2ys ago that it is already outdated... you can buy mobile phones also on high price in the shops but without any android or manufacturer updates...

  • And still available in US and elsewhere, new directly from Garmin, no note it is discontinued, without further updates and for same price as basic 1040! While a “let the buyer beware” sales approach is quite legal, I personally would expect better from a major , significant company we like to think we can trust?

  • And? the "not supported with new features" and "discontinued" are 2 different things. if the Garmin find any major issue in the firmware, they will publish an update. but there is no new features added to this series. so simple . it was the situation with the 520plus also, and the 530/830 was in the corner already which got the new features (these "plus" models are always coming at the end of a series, or at least very near to the end where the main code is more or less bug free, just have bigger storage or any hw change from the original models). be well-informed, and do not cry like a girl , imho. and pls give as much negative thumbs down as you can for this comment also (not You, L.Rouge...)

  • My dear mother would say "if you can't say something nice best to not say anything at all so being an obedient child I believe in keeping it factual and respecting all opinions is a good way of learning from forums. Also most of the "girls" in my cycling club are much better cyclists than me & I wish I was half as good.

  • And today there's a new beta version available! Not sure I'll install it though, as it works just fine for my use case.

  • Version x.81

    • Fixed several stability and functionality issues.

Not sure Garmin seriously want feedback on the beta, not much hint regarding what it does, what to test?

The last beta, x.79, about 11 months ago, went on for a few months, was supposed to address sensor dropouts, got 120 beta user feedback posts but never became a production version

  • Saw the prompt when I was heading out for a ride. Installed it HOPING that it included a fix for the 15-sec delayed gradient & faulty thermostat that reads 3-5 deg higher than actual... But, nope. Got none of that
