adding a POI to a gpx

I would like to add some POI's to a ride. Not as a waypoint but a POI that i can see on the map. Like Coffeestop or shop that pops up on the map. I know you can add this in Garmin Connect as a waypoint but I do not use these notifications, I would like to see it on the map. Is this possible?

    If your GPX file just contains waypoints, they will be added as locations (it has to be a literal GPX file).

    With Garmin Connect, what you are adding are “course points”. They are kinda like waypoints but not exactly. You’ll only see course points in FIT or TCX files.
