Edge 1030+ will not navigate a course.

I have tried multiple times to use .fit courses that work perfectly on an 805 that will not work on my 1030+. After a short time the navigation display stops updating. It is recording the correct position data but it is not displaying it. It also shows constant heading error on the map display despite having done the compass calibration motion multiple times. I have the latest software loaded. This is by far the worst Garmin device I have owned and I have owned many.

No one else appears to be having those kinds of issues. It’s not even clear what issues you are having.

Maybe, try resetting the device.

I think the problem is that I had the device set to "Prompt only" under course recalculation which seems to stop navigating and recording data when you leave a course until you respond to the prompt. I have changed the setting to auto-reroute to see if that fixes the problem.

Recording is not supposed to be stopped.

You can record without navigation and change navigation too.
