How to Rejoin A Course?

I have a course map on my Edge 1030 Plus for a 50 mile round trip ride. I want to shorten the overall distance. How do I: turn off the course, ride off course for a short distance, and then rejoin the course on the return path?

    You don't have to do anything.

    If you go off course, the 1030+ will ask if you want to pause navigation.

    The navigation will pick up where you rejoin the course.

    You can also reload the course. Don't select "Navigate to start?".
