Support for Garmin Tempe sensor

Is there any reason why such this support has just been added for Edge 1040 and not for 1030+, also considering that in 1030+ temperature measurement is completely wrong/overestimated and widely useless ?

If Garmin is not able to fix 1030+ temperature measurement, please at least add native support for Garmin Tempe sensor...(I had very bad experience with a Connect IQ Data Field to read data from Tempe !!!)

  • I concur.  My tempe works with my Enduro watch but i have to use a IQ app for my Edge.  the temp on the edge is useless as it is baking in the sun.  Tempe app works but does not update very often as compared to the data i get for tempe on my watch.

here is a ride the other day.  Garmin Edge temp on very bottom and temp app just above that.  major difference

  • Any news on this? The IQ data fields often don't work. I really think native support on 1030+ should not be rocketscience?

  • While I agree there should be native support, after all it is a Garmin Device and its using Ant+,  I find that the Garmin IQ app "Tempe Field" actually works really well

  • I would also like to see that. The IQ app worked for me in 99% of rides but this does not really helps so much, I have also a Fenix 6Pro and the watch considers the data read from the sensor for doing all the math post ride. With the Edge it just puts it inside the ride summary as additional data and that's all.

on my last ride - i had 12,5C average from Tempe sensor and 15C from the Edge device. This is huge difference.

  • the one which stops recording after lap is pressed?
