Garmin Edge1030 plus Worldwide MAP???

Hello Community,

I want to know if the Garmin Edge 1030 plus comes by default with a worldwide Map.

I ride in Europe, And I have a race in Africa. I want to be sure that I don't need to buy another Map.

Thanks a lot for help

  • Usually plus come with all moods downloadable from garmin express if different from the country of sell..

anyway, why buy them in case when is possible to find them?!

  • Thanks for your answer. How can I verify that i should download or not a map?

  • I recall from garmin express connecting the garmin to your computer

  • Connect your Edge to your PC, run Garmin Express, setup the Edge if not already done, click on Manage Maps. You can see what maps are installed on the Edge and what additional maps are available for download. If Garmin don't have a map available for the country you're after, there are third party sites with OSM maps you can install either directly or via Basecamp.

Depending on what maps you already have installed, you may need to delete some of the existing maps to make sufficient space for new maps.

I use Velomap maps myself (https://www.velomap.org/). Note that Garmin managed to screw up their anti-piracy routines so that Unicode maps won't work on post-2016 Garmin devices, so don't try to download and install any Unicode maps.

  • Thanks all for your answer. I'll check
