Auto FTP Calculation Errors if the Edge 1030 Plus Goes into Sleep Mode During an Activity

Hi hoyhoy! what software version is your Edge on? What are you power and heart rate zones set at? 

Happens on the latest firmware.  The bug was introduced some time in early May.  So, whatever firmware was the latest at that time.

Seems to only happen if I stop an activity long enough for the device to enter sleep mode when the screen turns off.  There are a number of bugs around sleep mode.  The hydration estimates all reset back to zero.  A number of ConnectIQ apps fail as well -- for iinstance the Strava Relative Estimate app resets back to zero.  I suspect there are in-memory counters that reset when the unit goes into sleep mode.  This FTP error is new, and fairly annoying because you have to manually skip the estimate, and you lose the actual data.

hoyhoy thank you for that information, when you say it is going into sleep mode during an activity, is this when you pause the ride for some time and it goes into auto sleep? and then you resume and have a new FTP (though incorrect) at the end of the ride?  Just want to make sure this is what you are experiencing. 

Yeah, if I pause a ride, and the screen turns off, that seems to cause all sorts of problems (the TyreWiz app crashes, ConnectIQ data fields stop working, default hydration estimates reset to zero).  A lot of these bugs have existed forever, but the Auto FTP estimate bug is new as of May 2022.
