Speed Sensor 2 -

Hello Support Team!

Could it be that my edge 1030 plus (SW 6.40) doesn't display the data fom the speed sensor 2 (SW 4.00), but instead shows the speed generated by the gps signal?

Riding my bike through a long tunnel (loss of the gps signal) I have noticed that the speed shown was zero and returned to the regular speed after receiving the gps-signal again.

Is this due to an incorrect setup (of my edge/speed sensor) or due to a software bug?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours,

Volker Braun

  • Hello @volbra!

Can you please confirm that you have your speed sensor paired and connected before you begin the ride? You can check in the menu > sensors, and the speed sensor is a speedometer icon. It will blink while the edge is still searching and then become solid once it is paired. Can you please ensure it is paired via ANT+?

Also, we would want to ensure that the wheel size is set correctly. Here are instructions on how to do this: Setting the Bike Wheel Size on a Garmin Fitness Device

  • Hi Maeve,

thank you for replying to my report.

I have checked all your requests.

The Speed Sensor 2 is paired and the speedometer icon is solid.

    The connection is by ANT+

The wheel size is set correctly (though automatically).

Now that I am looking especially at the speed, I have noticed that the speed displayed  keeps changing in small steps  (+/- 1-2 Km/h) even when riding at a constant speed.
