How can I transfer a destination point from google maps to my Edge Unit ?

Hello

When I go bike touring to a different country that uses non latin characters, I find the place I want to go in Google maps and then I have the following problems on my Edge device:

1) I cannot type the destination because I cannot read it.

2) if I manage to type it, the format of the address is usually different in google maps than on the Garmin device, showing multiple alternatives, of which I can't tell which one is the correct one.

Is there a way to transfer a destination point from google maps to my Edge device without having to type it ?

At least, can the device understand if I type that 4 chatacters location code that Google Naps manages for every place somehow ?

Any other idea will be appreciated as well

    You'd think there would be simple way to do this.

    I wrote an IQ app and widget that might be useful to you (my app combines the functionality of a few different apps).

    Here are a couple of options:

    1- https://www.sendpoints.us/

    This lets you search for things. You can use coordinates. If you use decimal coordinates, you are limited to using three decimal places.

    What you get is a 4 digit code that you enter into an IQ app or widget. You can use my IQ app or the SendPoints IQ app.

    2- Use pluscodes

    There are two forms of pluscodes: a longer form and a shorter form (that also has a nearby city).

    For example, 40.9609309d,-74.1115056 can be expressed as “xv6q+99 Glen Rock, New Jersey” (short form) or “87g7xv6q+99” (long form). (The “87g7” is the block Glen Rock is in.)

    The problem is that not many things provide the long form. You can get it from the Guru maps iOS/Android app (by selecting pluscodes for the coordinate units) but that app is somewhat expensive.

    Once you get the long plus code, you can enter it into my IQ app (you don't enter the +; it's just decoration) or use the Plus Codes IQ app.

    Thank you, I really appreciate it.

    Yes, something that should be simple,  it is not.

    Being able to share the location from Google maps, via Bluetooth or other, to the Edge device does not seem to complicated, but them I am no expert.

    I will look into your suggestions

    The issue is that the data has to be provided in the format that the IQ apps can use. The problem is things don't provide the data in the correct format.
