Not surprisingly I can't find details on mountain bike trail maps in any of the major reviews.
DCR mentions "mountain bike specific data" - but what does that mean? Did they do away with Trailforks? Do we get mountain bike heatmaps without the trail names and difficulty levels?
Desfit mentions the GPS data was "spot on" while on trails. But I assume we still need a speed sensor on single track for accurate data? Even my 1030 would only show 6 miles when riding 7 miles of twisty single-track.
I think you will still want the speed sensor for accurate disance on MTB trails. The GPS sample rate is still 1 second so it will still cut corners like any other unit. The better GPS should show your track more accurately relative to the actual trail though.
