Sensors Fail to Connect

My Edge 1030 worked perfectly until Garmin updated the software to 6.2 and subsequently 6.4, now my HR and cadence sensors fail to connect on start-up and drop out if I pause for more than a few seconds during a ride. That however is not the main issue, which is this: This is a Garmin forum but nowhere can I see a reply to any of the posts from Garmin offering help or support with this issue, which they have created. I'm not sure which is more annoying the dropouts or the complete disregard for their customers who spend hundreds of pounds on their products. They haven't even bothered to reply to the support email I sent 7 days ago. Garmin get your house in order!!

  • I've reported a similar issue with my Stages failing to connect at the start of a ride and after any pause in the ride. Garmin have said they are aware of it. It would appear that unless you report an issue like this directly to Garmin Support, that our comments here have to be treated as 'hear say' (information received from other people which cannot be substantiated). When you report an issue directly then Garmin can collect the data from your device to inspect error logs etc and verify the cause of the problem.

What WOULD be useful is if when ENOUGH data has been collected and a fault has been acknowledged by Garmin as being real, that they would actually tell us in their forums so that we needn't spend our time reporting issues unnecessarily ;-)

  • And what would be even better is if they even acknowledged a support request!
They have always had *** customer service and I don’t think anything the paying public (their customers) say will change it.

  • I always phone them and never have a problem getting an acknowledgement :-) That's been my experience over the last 10 years anyway :-) I make my comments about their service directly to them - I hear you though ;-)
