New FTP during ride summary 23W/kg ????????

After a fairly steady ride on Monday my garmin notified me of a new FTP to save or skip during ride summary - 23w/kg, 1658w. Which is perhaps a tad optimistic. I'm running a stages single crank arm power meter and checking the figures my peak power was miles below that.

Then today I got similar but bumped FTP up even higher, didn't get a photo this time but think it was in the region of 2300w. Average power for the ride was nowhere near this obviously nor was the peak power.

Only seems to be happening since the last update though it seems other garmins have had the same issue in the past.

MIne did this today! It was a hard session BUT my Best Power (20 Minutes) went up by 715 watts and the W/Kg went up from 4.3 to 11.6!

yep, my 1030+ randomly shut down . i was able to restart ride and everything looked fine till i finished and the TE data was way off and the FTP was way high. Did your edge possibly restart and you did not notice it ? I was looking at mine when it shutdown.

Not noticed mine having shut down at all. I turn it off for cafe stops etc but been doing that for ages before this came up.

Just seen another post where someone else had similar problem - everything else has seemed fine as far as I could see though I don't take any notice of the workout summary stuff apart from when the garmin gets lippy and tells me my century+ ride was not productive!

I think they need to use some different monkeys to test there beta on, these ones obviously do not ride much.

Hello. This is a common problem after the latest update. I hope they will fix the bug even if nice to share with biker friends, ahahaha !.

Yes…my Garmin just informed me of a new 20 min power record: 1175 watts!

Well after today's mega 27w/kg ftp I can safely say that garmin's latest update doesn't fix this issue!

With every release, it seems to be zero steps forwards and several steps backwards :-( . I know it's easy to be a Garmin Basher, I've been doing my best not to be one BUT after 11 years of using the Edge I've totally lost faith in their ability to provide a product that simply works :-(
