New Edge 1030 Plus Public Beta 6.28 Now Available

A new Beta software for the Edge 1030 Plus has been released. Full change log, instructions, and software for installing the beta can be found in the link below.

Notes:

  • For any issues that you encounter please fill out the form included in the download and attach it to an email to [email protected]. Please note that you may not get a response to the email unless we need more information on the issue you report.
  • Although this software is believed to be reliable, it has not yet been released for production and should be used at your own risk.

Changes made from version 6.26 to 6.28:

  • Added support for Connect IQ System 5.
  • Improved map turn review zoom level when approaching roundabouts at slow speeds.
  • Fixed issue where very long course names resulted in routing calculation failure.
  • Fixed issue where activities could be hidden from history.
  • Fixed issue with Daily Suggested Workout time estimates.

Changes made from version 6.24 to 6.26:

  • Fixed software crashes caused by encrypted CIQ programs that are no longer valid.
  • Fixed a couple of device stability issues.

Changes made from version 6.22 to 6.24:

  • Fixed automatic maximum heart rate detection.
  • Added the ability to perform the FTP test with power data coming from a trainer.

Changes made from version 6.10 to 6.22:

  • Changed gear battery data field to display percentage remaining if available, which affects Shimano Di2 single-battery systems.
  • Updated sensor low battery prompts to differentiate between low and critical status.
  • Fixed issue where distance could stop accumulating.
  • Fixed issue where text message sender names would display incorrectly.

    This appears to have resolved the 200 activity file limit on the units. What's the new limit? :)

    Installed the 6.28 FW yesterday, went for a ride today. Now, every time I operate the front derailleur (SRAM Red eTap), the 1030+ bleeps. Has never done this with any previous version of FW. It's not a low battery warning, as I charged the derailleur batteries a few days ago, and the gear battery data field on the Edge is still showing a full set of bars for all batteries.

    Just got back from a ride and the activity didn't upload to Garmin Connect on my mobile, just kept saying syncing.  Left it trying to sync for about 5 minutes.  So I turned off the Edge 1030+ for 10 seconds and then turned it back on again and the ride uploaded and the sync completed.

    I can confirm that problem. The exact same thing happend to me.
    Upload to Strava worked without a problem. Upload to Garmin Connect only after a power-cycle of the Edge.

    Hmmmm I wonder if it was due to something else other than the update? I updated as soon as this became available and up until today my rides have always uploaded as soon as I end the ride by my back gate and it finds the wifi. Today I ended the ride as normal and turned the 1030+ off, but noticed when I went to Strava that the ride wasn't there. I terned the Edge on again and sync'd through the GC App on my phone and the ride uploaded immediately. Something to keep an eye on for sure :-)

    For me, every turn by turn notification is displayed  first as a blank page for few seconds ,then , correct turn(track, arrow) is displayed.

    Very annoying

    Same for me. Looks like it's on purpose.
    I guess if you would use the sequential setting of the SRAM it might make sense to have a notification of the front derailleur.

    I like that behaviour, even if it's not really necessary :-D
