Why doesn’t Garmin allow us to assign gear (bike) to an activity profile?

Is there any reason Garmin does not allow your mountain bike to be automatically tagged in all mountain bike profile rides, and your road bike to be tagged as the bike for all road profile rides?

Seems like this would be a simple thing to add and would save the inconvenience of having to manually tag the appropriate bike for every ride.

Absolutely agree with you, could be an easy implementation from software developing point of view but super usefull improvement!!

You mean like the bike profiles that used to exist in the edge 810

So setting a default bike used to be possible and was taken away?
