I've had similar problems with my edge 530 and would like to understand this once and for all, so if anyone rides laps and uses auto lap to record, I would be grateful for your help

Select Lap Press Only to trigger the lap counter each time you select and each time you pass any of those locations again.
This suggests that if I set auto-lap to trigger by position, start my loop and press the lap counter that it should auto trigger each time I pass the start point. This does not happen and I have to keep pressing the lap counter. Fine because it does say "lap press only" but do I have to "mark & lap" to make it auto trigger at the same point ?
