Directions bar at top sometimes disappears.

I can see where I am, but not the directions to where I'm going or the distance to the next turn etc. Why does this keep happening?

I've had this before, IIRC I found that there are some *.bak files in the NewFiles folder. Once these were deleted the navigation worked
