Unintentional ending of ride

Garmin PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! put a recovery step in the ending of ride sequence!

Even though I'm an experienced 1030 Plus user occasionally I unintentionally/accidentally end a ride (usually when waking my 1030 up after a mid-ride coffee stop). This happened AGAIN today when I must have accidentally touched the screen (without out even noticing I’d done so until I saw the end of ride information screen displayed)… Unbelievably frustrating to see a ride has been ended in the middle unintentionally as NOTHING can be done to continue the ride once you see its been stopped (there is only a tick to continue).

PLEASE put a "back arrow" or a "confirm end ride" OK window (or whatever) so an intentionally ended ride can be recovered/restarted. Currently this is not possible and there is no way to restart an accidentally ended ride (except later joining rides back together manually).

Well that won’t work either. My screen was locked, then I pressed End ride and put the device back in my pocket. When I pulled it back out the ride was gone!

Agreed and absolutely infuriating for such an expensive device!

The danger of pressing "end ride" by mistake can easily be avoided by pressing the return arrow at the bottom left of the display after pressing the pause button and then sending the Edge to sleep.
After waking up, the ride cannot then be terminated by mistake.

Ah ok thanks. I will have to try this next time. Yesterday I pause the ride before popping into the shops, put the Garmin edge 1030 device in my pocket and when I took it out my pocket 10mins later it had already saved automatically.

Never put your device into your pocket if not screen locked or sent to sleep!
The touch screen gets unintentional touches in your pocket!

I think that if you lock the screen (momentarily press power button after starting an activity), then you can't accidentally end the activity. If I try to end an activity with the screen locked, I get a popup message saying "Touchscreen is locked, press power key to unlock it", and I can resume the activity.

Happens to me several times! So frustrating, they should have a confirmation button if ride ride is to he ended

Me too. Í dont know why garmin dont put a confirmation prompt to save activity.

this is what happens to me often when I'm in the Forrest or off-road. Navigation stops completely and there's no option to reroute.
