1030 plus re routing question

Hi all.

I am undecided between a Karoo2 and a 1030 plus.

As I will be using it for mostly road and touring, I need to know more about re routing.

Does the 1030 plus re route like Google Maps does, if you are forced off route by road closures or miss a turn.

Does any one have any actual experience of how good re routing is?

Thank you

  • I’m quite happy with the rerouting on the 1030 plus. The device will re-route and give you a couple of options: re-route back to where you left the course, route to a point where you can join the course again or cut directly to the finish of the course.

Previous devices would only do re-routing to the point where you left the course, which I often found not very useful.

I also used a Karoo 2 for a few rides, to compare. While the interface is slick, I found routing not to be much better on the Karoo. Main deciding factor to stay with the 1030 plus was screen size for me.

1030+ rerouting has been very fast
If you want it to automatically rerouting, you need to turn on "Off Course Warnings"
If "Off Course Warnings" is not turned on, when you Off Course, a "Pause" button will be generated at the bottom left of the map page, just press 2 times to return to the course
