Edge 1030 vs Edge 1030 Plus REPLACEMENT SCREEN

Hello:

I have a cracked screen on my Edge 1030 Plus. Is the screen for the 1030 Plus the same screen that was used for the 1030? I'm ordering a replacement part and finding several 1030 screens but not as many 1030 Plus options.

I don't believe the screens are the same. I owned a 1030 and remember a slight grid pattern to be visible. On the 1030 Plus, I haven't seen this grid. Furthermore, the 1030 suffered from the halo effect…

How did the cracked screen happen? If it was because your 1030 Plus fell off your bike, may I suggest using the tether that comes with the 1030 Plus (and other Garmin models)? I use the out front mount that accomodates the External Battery Pack. It uses a lever to secure the Edge rather than the quarter turn type of connection. The tether saved me once when I didn't fully tighten the Edge on the mount.

Hey Colin. Unfortunately, the crack situation was a little dumber on my part. While loading bikes into the truck I generally remove the device from my bike and either put it in my pocket or in the truck. This time, I sat it on the bumper. Even told myself to remember. Duh...I didn't. Drove away and it fell off the bumper. I know...dumb. But that's the issue.

So, I need a replacement screen. Do you or anyone else know where to find it? Is it the same screen as the 1030 screen?

Thanks for any help...The good news, the device still works perfectly!

Both screens looks the same, but don't forget that technology has been changed a little bit - on Edge1030+ we don't have the halo issue any more.

Really helpful to have those views. MUCH appreciated! With the technology changes, have you seen the replacement work using a 1030 screen on a 1030 Plus device? Or do you know where I can find a 1030 Plus screen replacement? I may indeed be blind but I'm struggling to find a 1030 Plus replacement screen.

Offtopic: As Diamond member I don't agree. It is just a store with bunch of sellers and only few of them are ****** :) But Ali is on your side, so no problem to get money back if something goes wrong.

Due to broken On/Off button I once ordered an Edge 1000 backcase with battery for about $ 40. Worked perfectly! Took its time to get it in Austria, but was good quality and all ok!
