Big difference in stress score on Edge 1030 & Swim 2

Hi,

I own a Garmin Edge 1030 Plus and a Garmin Swim 2. Both devices calculate stress scores based on heart rate variability (Swim; constant, Edge; 3 min test feaure) but the scores are always very different. The Swim 2 often reports scores below 20, at the same time the Edge reports scores over 80. Both devices use the Garmin strap for measurement.

Why is this?

Best, D.

  • Using a chest strap and the Garmin Edge 1030, I record the HRV every morning up to three times in a row under the same conditions. The rates vary a lot, from low stress to high within the same time span. I don't think it can be measured reliably with these sensors. A real pity!
