Can Edge 1030 plus be synced up with fenix 5 plus during a cycling ride to display heart rate on the Edge

Can Edge 1030 plus be synced up with fenix 5 plus during a cycling ride to display heart rate on the Edge. Do they both have to be recording a ride to be doing this?

Yes you can use the Fenix as a HR sensor. No they do not have to both be recording. The Fenix will have an option somewhere to broadcast HR via ANT+. Turn this on and you can pair it as a HR sensor on the Edge.
