- Time to destination always wrong with 5.00.
Since beta 4.22 the time to destination when following a course made with Strava is always too long : the time is almost double

Can anyone help me with this problem of wrong time to destination?
I wrote to the beta Garmin team about that and no answers . This problem appeared with the last beta versions.
the very old edge 500 was working better than the new edge 1030 +
It’s a shame isn’t it ?
I don't think it has changed in build 5.00. The Edge 500 and 1030+ use very different methods to compute the time to destination.
The 500 I think uses your average moving speed over some prior period. Units with navigational maps such as the 1030+ use data associated with the road classification.
Is the time too short or too long?
The time is a lot too long as you can see on the picture above: the 1030 + says 5h45 for 81.93 kms : it should be about 2h55.
And the time to destination was correct with the first firmware versions.
I don’t remember when it goes wrong.
Were you actually riding the course when you took that screen shot or had you just started the timer and were stationary?
If you are stationary with the timer running it will use that data to compute your time to destination, which will definitely then get inflated.
I was stationary but the timer was not running because auto pause was on. And if I start the course the time starts at 5h45 and stays wrong all the time like if I ride at 13 kms/h instead of 26
Moreover when I look at the summary of the course the time given to complete the course is 3h16 and not 5 h 45.
Could you post the course FIT file as it maybe pulling the time from that?
Can you tell how to post the FIT file : I can't manage
Look here, there is a description how to upload:
