Map display question 1030+

The map display seems to record previous routes I rode and display it on the map screen as a line along the dotted line that depicts the trail.  I'd like for that to go away.  Every time I go out on a ride along my typical route there is already a solid route line along the dotted route on the map.  Any ideas on how to get rid of the previous ride(s) so they don't show up?  thanks.

  • Try Settings > Activity Profiles > [profile_name] > Navigation > Map > Popularity Map and turn it off.

Not sure if the Popularity Map is what you are seeing, but this option does add extra lines to the map to show popular routes when enabled.

  • Scillonian - thats what I thought it would be as well - however I have had it turned off.

  • Could you post a Screen Capture of what you are seeing?

To enable Screen Capture go to Settings > System > Display > Screen Capture. Once enabled, use the Power button to take the Screen Capture.

  • Scillonian - take a look and see what you think?  I've tried many settings - never saw this in my old 1030.  Thanks.

  • It looks like a trails overlay map to me.

In Settings > Activity Profiles > [profile_name] > Navigation > Map > Map Information do you have the Trailforks (or any other) trail overlay map enabled? Disable them and see if the lines go away.

The Edge 1030 Plus comes with the Trailforks app and map installed and enabled by default. You can remove the app but you can only disable the map.

  • Scillonian - thanks again for your help.  It doesn't appear that I have trail forks enabled as its telling me to Open the Connect Mobile app and authorize Trailforks.  However I might like to delete it as I don't have much use for it.  The only maps that I have enabled are the ones that come stock with the unit.  So, no changes so far in the way the map is displayed on the unit - still the line along the trail marking.

  •  has asked, if the Trailforks map is enabled (which is part of the stock maps and is enabled by default).

This has nothing to do with the Trailforks app!

Please check, if Trailforks map is enabled!

  • There is another possibility why courses are displayed without loading them.
You can set courses to "always visible".
In this specific case, however, I think this is extremely unlikely.

  • When I scrolled down the map info page, further than I had scrolled in the past, it showed the TrailForks enabled.  I disabled it - and it FIXED the problem.  Thanks for persevering with me. Scillonian and mcinner1 - really appreciate it.
