Contour Lines for Europe Maps

Is it possible to display contours lines on European Maps on the 1030 plus ? I have the 'Display Contour Lines' option enable but am not seeing any. If however I look at either the USA or Australian maps contours line are displayed ... am Imissing something or are contour line unavailable for Europe ? Firmware and maps all upto date as of today inc the new firmware.

I spoke with Garmin today. They said that the European maps they provide do not support contour drawing.

Hmm. I guess the contour lines are in the region map (not in the DEM map).

It doesn't make too much sense not to support it for Europe.

It shouldn't be too hard to get an overlay map with contour lines.

I've confirmed with Garmin this morning that the only way to see contours on any of your map displays (Edge 1030 plus) is to BUY the Topo maps for your area. The Contour on / off setting only does anything IF you have purchased the maps! So that is obviously creating confusion for may users who, like me expected the Contours to appear! The contour lines are displayed for the North American maps.

There are many sources for free OSM maps for the Edges but not contour overlay maps (as far as I can tell).

Contour lines can be created as an overlay map. One can do this for free.
