Settings from Edge 1000 not copied over

I just took my new 1030 Plus out of the box and turned it on, went through the smartphone pairing and basic setup as in the Quick Start Guide, but it did not offer to transfer the saved settings from my Edge 1000 to the new device. I thought that this was a feature and was described in some of the reviews. What's up with this -- do I once again have to set up everything from scratch including all my profiles, screens, sensors, etc.? That is a LOT of work!

Per this article: https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=yRbcdNVKFr0ZSFnykeb526 My Edge 1000 is on 15.50 so it should be covered.

I seem to have "solved" on my 2nd attempt after doing a full reset and removing it from Connect. At the start of setup, it asks if you "Regularly Ride with a Power Meter",, which I do not and answered "No". This is when previous settings were not transferred. After doing a full reset and starting over, this time I answered "Yes" and it then proceeded to ask me about transferring sensors and profiles.

So I "solved" my transfer issue, but it would seem to be a bug that answering No to this question caused it to skip the settings transfer.
