Doh! I upgraded from a Edge 530 to a 1030 Plus first and foremost to have a map overview and a handful of data fields. Turns out that the big screen of the 1030 Plus only allows 2 data fields.
Please tell me that I overlooked something. Otherwise I’m pretty scr*wed… The store I bought the 1030 plus from doesn’t accept returns of used software products.
By default there is a maximum of 2 datafields on the mapscreen.
But you can use IQ datafields to get 4 - or whatever you want:
1) HMs DIY:
apps.garmin.com/.../b0346b71-bf01-4070-96d6-3de66dcc8233
see picture below. You can design your own layout
2) Mini Edge Dash
apps.garmin.com/.../128e56c5-539f-4c62-ac5d-37dd38c64def
3) MapDashboard

I just did the following:
-loaded the example file "Maps_Edge1030_mcinner1.xml" from the sample collection of the newest Designer download, which looks good in the designer
-pressed "copy to clipboard" on designer tool and pasted the string into Clone #5 via Garmin Express
-set the datafield on my Edge 1030 Plus to a "one datafield layout" on mapscreen
Works - no problem...
If your problems persist - please be more specific what's going on and describe the steps you did.
