Cannot connect to PC

Hi,

I am trying to connect my Edge 1030 Plus  to my PC via USB cable - used to work but suddenly stopped working.

I have tried swapping cables / using different USB ports (2 /3) but just will not work.

Anyone else have this problem ? - i want to connect via PC to install some GPX files (Sutrans Rides)

If anyone can help be much appreciated

Jon

  • Here are two things to try:

The easiest first.  Restart your computer

If that fails, try forcing the GPS into mass storage mode

      Turn the GPS off
Hold the lap button (bottom left button) while plugging in to USB
Continue holding lap button for 30 seconds
Release button when Edge is recognized by computer

  • Thanks for the reply, didn't work unfortunately - shows as charging but still no connection

  • Does your Edge show a large icon of a PC?  If so, you should be able to use Windows File Manager to look at the directory structure of the GPS.  Perhaps you have a file "stuck" in the New Files folder.

  • All good now thanks ; problem was i was not using the actual USB cable which came with the 1030 + even though they are the same types must be some different connection.

always look for the simple things first.

    Thank you for the help.
