I've recently bought an Edge 1030 Plus after my old Polar V650 died on me. I've been enjoying it immensly but I've run into some issues when using Trailforks. For one thing, I'm asked each and every time I open the TF app on the Edge to log in and authorize TF. Is this normal? I'm having trouble believing it is, but if not what am I missing? I'm using basic non-Pro TF, Garmin (and Strava) shows up as connected in my TF settings, and TF is activated as a connected app in Garmin connect.
The other issue I had was with a route/trail I wishlisted in TF. It did show up in the TF app on the Edge, and when I selected it I was asked if I wanted to open it using my MTB profile. I did and started riding, and the Edge *seemed* to auto-start an activity: I got a beep, green arrow showed up on the screen, timer started running as well as distance, speed, etc. (I did not push the start-stop button on the Edge) So far so good. However, when I reached te end of the trail there was no way for me to finish or save the activity: the start/stop button would beep when pressed but nothing happened on the screen. In the end I "force-quit" the Edge by pressing the power button several seconds, and I created a manual activity in the Connect app. The ride also didn't show up in my TF ride log (previous rodes did show up as expected normally after ending a 'normal' activity, i.e. started straight from the Edge, profile, start button). Can anyone explain to me what went wrong here? Should I still have started an activity through the start-stop button? But if that's the case, why wouldn't an activity start when I pressed the button at the end of the ride?
***edited to add: I hadn't ridden since the story above happened. When I started my Edge just now it immediately gave me the option to end and save my ride... Weird... Synced perfectly to Strava, Komoot and TF. But I still need to login and authorize TF every time I use it on the Edge. That's just f-ing annoying
