Disappearing map

Not a saved route, but just a regular ride. location map was blank. The only thing showing on the screen was the direction I was riding at the very top and a small arrow with a thin blue line thru the screen showing that same direction. No streets, no roads, no nothing.

1. Perhaps you were zoomed in so close that no features appeared because there were none nearby. Try zooming out.

2. Perhaps the map has been disabled for the profile you are using. Check that you are in the profile you want to use and the map is enabled. (Hamburger!Activity profile!Navigation!Map Information)

3. Perhaps your Edge doesn't have a map for the region you are riding in. Check that the map is installed and enabled,

thanks for your suggestion. I seemed to have erased all the maps while trying to fix another minor issue. I was very pleased with myself when the previous issue was solved by my less than knowledgeable repair. unfortunately the maps cannot be reinstalled and that part of the device is useless now.

Also not when the 1030 Plus is connected to the PC through USB in Mass Storage Mode, using Garmin Express?
The Worldwide NR Basemap will not be restored however. Somebody here on this forum can maybe give a link for downloading from elsewhere?
