Charge mode

Suddenly, since yesterday, my Edge 1030 Plus no longer enters a charging mode when I plug in the cable from the device off.
I'm always using the same load and charger.
The Edge 1030, instead of going into charging mode, turns on, and to charge it, once turned on, I always have to pull the cable out and plug it back in.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • mine did that about a week ago ... tried a second cable that was to hand and everything was OK again. the second cable was a 4 wire so not sure if that was the "fix" as going back to the original cable worked again !

  • I don't know why, but it works with me too.
Changed cable, and I had right behaviour.
Then back to the original cable and the problem seems to be fixed!

  • I had the same issue too.  I had thought it was the cable but now I know that it's not.

  • Last night I had the unit in the charge mode.  Sometime during the night the unit came out of the charge mode and it turned on by itself.  By this morning it had drained the unit's battery down to 50%.  Not sure what's causing this.  This is an intermittent issue.  So far it has happened three times in about a month.  So weird.

  • I've not seen my 1030+ do this, but I have seen an Android tablet do it - comes off charge on its own that is - and this was, again, traced to a cable/connection issue.

In certain positions the cable seemed to be not making contact properly and so not charging. Micro USB is not the most "robust" of connectors !!
