1030 plus washed out screen

I'm aware the 1030 plus has a screen that's looks washed out as standard but if you look at these pics of 2 1030 plus units side by side and on the same settings doesn`t one appear more washed out than the other? One looks more purple than black. Surely the washed out effect can`t vary from unit to unit. Why do they look different?

One has a poorly-affixed screen protector.

The 1030 was originally made with a screen that had the blue halo issue. So, clearly, the screens can be different.

I wonder if this has something to do with the ambient light sensor calibration. Meaning both screens are actually identical but one has a slightly different backlight level due to a calibration difference on the ambient light sensor. I have two 1030 Plus and I just checked them indoors. Both screen look identical to me.

You can enter in the system menu and check display revision

And yes itbis a little bit washed, both 1030 and 1030 + but outside are little bit more visible

I am in love with Wahoo Roam type of display, very very visible

I've compared it to a 1030 plus as shown in pics and an 830 and mine still looks more washed our than either and difficult to read indoors

The Garmin display has been a major disappointment as is Garmin customer service. All they say is "the screen display is ok" without backing that up with any proof

The display looks washed out only in indoors. When riding outdoors the screen is perfectly fine. Below is an image I took outdoors.

I don't think the backlight is on in the pictures.

The difference is slight. The one with the screen protector is slightly yellow. The difference is due to the screen protector.n

That’s because your shadow is exclusively over the top of the Garmin!
