Climb Pro screen popped up for 2 seconds then disappears when on the map screen

Is this a bug?  When I'm on the main data screen the Climb Pro works fine and remains on.  But if I'm on the map screen then Climb Pro pops up for 2 seconds then back to the map screen. Is this how it's supposed to work?  Is the only way to see the Climb Pro screen is to be on the data screen?  Thanks.

  • I've not seen that, but I will give it a try. What software build are you on?

  • It worked OK for me, but check the following setting under the activity profile you are using

Profile - Data Screens -> ClimbPro

  • Thanks for checking.  Yes, my settings are correct.  It works just fine when I'm looking at the data screen.  But if I'm on the map screen it pops up then disappears.  I'm running 3.17.  I can no longer find the 4.0 release notes.  Garmin has deleted the 4.0 post once 4.1 came out.  But I doubt 4.0 fixed this particular issue.  Weird.  Do you have the 4.0 release notes?

  • I'm on 4.10.

There would have been a lot fixes in 4.00 and I suspect not all are documented.

Is there a reason you have not gone to 4.10?

  • Thanks for posting the 4.0 change log.  I'm on beta 3.17 because I like the Varia 'all-clear' tone.  Once I've tried it I don't want to go without it.  Garmin didn't implement it in 4.0 because they needed more time to refine it.  Once they have released a new beta that includes the 'all-clear' tone I'll upgrade to it immediately.

The ClimbPro issue isn't a big issue for me.  I just thought it was weird that the pop-up only happens if you're on the data screen.  Since this and many other things aren't documented in the user manual I come here to find out if something is done by design or a bug.  Hopefully this was a bug and it was addressed in 4.0 or higher.
