I have a course laid out on the Garmin website. I noticed some time ago that Garmin was taking me off course - a shortcut if you will. Where I should've been going up to a roundabout and turning right and coming down a parallel road, my Garmin was taking me through a housing estate as a shortcut to get to the parallel road.
I was ignoring it - thinking I must have messed up when I created the course. But it does it every time and reports a Route Calculation Error - which was getting more than annoying.
So recently I logged in to Garmin Connect, attached the device and deleted the course. I then checked the course on the Garmin website and it was showing exactly how the route was showing on my Garmin and how it should've been. So I uploaded it again to my Garmin 1000 and went out riding.
Again, it tries to take me this shortcut - off route to what the Garmin "blue line" is showing for my course.
Is there a setting that's been added recently or switched on that would do such a ridiculous thing?
The below image shows my route (green and blue) and the red dotted line is the line it constantly tries to take me. The blue line is my actual course and is the course mimicked on my Garmin 1000 - but for some bizarre reason it keeps trying to take me down the dotted line.
